Do I have to completely adhere to the itinerary?

The short answer is no. As a tour operator, we are facilitating you with this once in a lifetime experience in Japan, but we do not force anyone to do something they do not want to. We encourage attendees to research different things they would like to do in Japan as there will be slots of time where attendees are given the freedom to do what they like. We encourage independence throughout the tour as long as there is clear and sustained communication between the attendee and the tour leader.
